After Sonja's procurement of traditional Chinese street food breakfast, we headed to Victoria Park, the Central Park of Hong Kong, and (after some helpful instruction from the locals), took part in some morning exercises.
We finished up at the Laughing Corner!
Was that partially for my benefit???? I'm TOTALLY impressed! Great way to start the day - outdoors, exercise, with friends, laughing - PERFECT!
ReplyDeleteI don't get the "pretend we're in a head-on collision" exercise in the third picture. Is the goal just to get your heart racing?
ReplyDeleteKevin, I was going to ask exactly the same question. Seems like a weird exercise. Need some elaboration!
ReplyDeleteThose are called Tai Chi Wheels. they are part of a circuit of exercises designed for the elderly. We didn't get it either until we read the sign explaining that we were to "stand with feet shoulder-width apart and descend into a horse riding position," grip the handles of each wheel and turn in a clockwise or "anti-clockwise" direction for the purpose of exercising the muscles of the shoulders, elbows, hips and knees.
ReplyDeleteNow there is a picture! Thanks for the explanation!
